Assisted Living

The Johnson Center Assisted Living is a 16-bed facility connected to Sun Dial Manor. Assisted living provides an environment for seniors who can no longer live safely on their own and require some level of supervision. The Center promotes independence, and encourages residents to maintain an independent lifestyle. The Center has private and semi-private rooms. Residents are encouraged to attend activities throughout the day. Services include three meals a day with nutritional snacks, housekeeping and laundry services, 24-hour nurse on duty, nurse-administered medications, transportation to medical appointments, rehabilitation services, activity programs and spiritual support.

Respite Care

Older adults sometimes need temporary housing arrangements. Perhaps their care giver is ill or on vacation. We offer Respite Care Services for 30 days or less. Respite clients must have their physician provide Sun Dial Manor with pertinent medical information. Respite Care services include three meals a day with nutritional snacks, laundry and housekeeping services, medication administration and transportation to scheduled medical appointments. While in respite care, the resident will have access to restorative therapy equipment. He/She will be encouraged to maintain an independent lifestyle and attend social activities.

RSVP Volunteers

Glacial Lakes Region RSVP is affiliated with our facility. RSVP is America’s largest volunteer network for people ages 55 and over. We have several RSVP volunteers in our community. They are able to contribute to our facility in a variety of ways, whether it be by providing entertainment, adding to social activities, or by contributing spiritual help or a special service. If you would like to be part of this special group contact our Activity Department.

Senior Nutrition

In addition to providing meals for all residents of Sun Dial Manor, we also provide the meals for the Bristol Community Senior Meal Program. Anyone from Bristol or the surrounding area that is 60 years old or older is invited to join us for the delicious noon meal. A monthly menu is available. Menus are also posted at the Bristol Post Office, First Savings Bank and Bristol Community Center.

Meals at Sun Dial Manor are served Monday through Friday, including holidays that fall during the week. Community members from the Bristol area and other visitors are encouraged to call the kitchen by 9 a.m. on days they wish to eat. A suggested donation of $3.50 is encouraged for each meal, but any amount is accepted. All menus are approved by a Registered Dietitian to meet dietary guidelines.

Eating meals together is an excellent opportunity for community members to gather and socialize while benefiting from a tasty, nutritious meal. It is also beneficial for Sun Dial Manor residents to have friends and family visit.

Skilled Nursing

Sun Dial Manor is a 37 bed skilled nursing facility serving individuals with needs ranging from short-term skilled care to temporary rehabilitation to long term care.

Sun Dial Manor also provides care for people who can no longer care for themselves due to physical, emotional or mental conditions. Physical, Occupational and Speech therapies are available. These therapies help residents regain or maintain their highest level of independence.

Other services include assistance with daily living activities, three meals a day with nutritional snacks, housekeeping and laundry services, 24-hour nurse, medication administration, rehabilitation services and transportation to medical appointments at no additional charge.

Our nursing team works together to help each resident meet their physical, medical, social and spiritual needs. Physicians and Physician Extenders from Sanford Clinic Webster make monthly rounds to Sun Dial Manor to see residents.
