Therapy

Sun Dial Manor Therapy Department offers physical, occupational and speech therapies provided by Aegis Therapies or TLC Therapy. Medicare A or B often covers the cost of therapy. Based on a physician order, we can help residents schedule a therapist and develop a suitable therapy program. Our restorative nursing program – accurately described as follow-up care- complements the therapy program.

Among the exercise-therapy equipment available, we offer two Nu-Step exercising machines that allow residents to simultaneously exercise upper and lower extremities.

Beauty & Barber Shop

A licensed beautician is available on Wednesdays and Thursdays to provide a variety of services, and a barber visits to cut hair for our male residents. Hair care expenses are the responsibility of each resident.

Long Term Care Insurance

We can assist residents and their families with claims on their long term care insurance policies. We also help family members plan for the future by looking into long term care for themselves. Long term care plans provide peace of mind regarding financing long term care. Individuals having this assistance are more likely to enjoy a private room if they need such care.

Our administrator is an expert about the Long Term Care Partnership program in South Dakota and can help families understand Succession Planning. Long term care insurance policies can be purchased through Sun Dial Manor, and commissions from the sale go directly to the Sun Dial Manor to operate and improve the facility.

Walking Trail

Many benefactors helped us develop our beautifully landscaped walking trail. The trail winds through the property, and provides resting areas with benches and patio furniture in sunny and shady areas.

You can enjoy bright, colorful flowers and birdwatching at bird-feeders, as well as a gazebo in which to relax and visit with friends. Max, the ever-vigilant Dalmatian dog, greets residents and guests and guards the trail’s entrance.

The Girl Scouts of Bristol developed many beautiful floral displays along the trail, and our residents and staff maintain the trail’s floral gardens and baskets.

The trail provides outdoor exercise opportunities in a safe and natural environment. We invite everyone to enjoy the wonderful walking trail!

Transportation

Many nursing homes expect families to transport residents to doctor appointments. Sun Dial Manor offers this service without a fee.

Our residents are delivered to any medical appointments within a 60-mile radius of Bristol in our wheelchair-accessible van. A Certified Nursing Assistant accompanies the resident during the trip and in the doctor’s office unless a family member meets them there.

Bus Outings

Our special 13-passenger bus is always on the go to fun places. Because the bus is wheel-chair accessible no one misses the outings.

Sun Room

Our warm and cozy Sun Room is a favorite among residents. Big, sunny windows and an electric fireplace adds comfort to this setting.

Whirlpool Tub

Our deluxe whirlpool tub, located in our recently redecorated "spa" room, provides a relaxing and wonderful bathing experience. The tub includes an electric recline feature and a 9-jet, 3-speed air mechanism to provide water motion that aids circulation.
